Hi Gatesheadbanger I read recently that Rick has 3 buttons on his effects pedal. One to make it louder, one to turn it off and one to make it go all sparkly. If you listen to the Frantic Four stuff from a couple of years ago and you can hear what I mean. The intro to 4500 for example. The quiet bit in Little Lady just before the solo The intro to Backwater. There's a nice but not too obvious chime to the sound. Not much bass in it and the usual mix of chorus and phaser (or flanger) I realise the AC30 helps in the chimey respect but since my original post I've bought a Roland GP-8 to see if I can get anything near his sound. My chorus pedal seems to alter the tone of the guitar and muffle it and sounds rubbish so I'm hoping this GP-8 will help I just wondered if anybody out there had a definitive answer

Best pedal to buy for it is a Electro Harmonix Mistress... You've probably got the tone since then considering how old this thread is. Cheers
