Huge fan of thrash and its many sub genres.
From Metallica to 1349.
It seemed so much better than anything else around in 83-84.
A real antidote to the the largely synth driven pop rock and metal of the time.

Always been more into the really heavy stuff myself, and as Tommy Vance used to say "Intelligent Thrash", some of the exponents of that genre are just the most phenomenal muso's ever, guys like Skolnick / Friedman / Lombardo / Hanneman / King / Hetfield / Mustaine and a whole plethora of others.
Playing that type of stuff takes serious skills, I remember on the old board someone asking if Quo stuff was easy to play, well put it this way.... I'm a total out and out Metalhead, much much more than a Quo fan, but I've got a Youtube guitar page and its just full of Quo tracks....not one single Thrash track at all!, Quo stuff is like learning nursery rhymes in comparison to the main stuff I listen to.
This track in particular showcases the incredible talent of Marty Friedman, listen to those solos between 2.48 and 3.32, I remember buying the album back in 1990 and being completely blown away by the playing on it, those solos still make the hair on my neck stand up to this day, phenomenally crafted and delivered.

Not a huge fan of thrash, but Hanger 18 is one of the finest metal tracks ever made.
