You know I was wondering this the other day ... where did the Frame, who loved the music he was making in the 70s, go to? It was like, he loved this music and believed in it, and then after a few years, he didn't. If he'd got religion, married a folk singer, or had a heart transplant, I would understand, but historically, I don't.
I understand why he moved on to a different style, people just do that, but he's so dismissive about their 70s work now, I don't get that. It's taking his tendency to be self-denegrating to an extreme.

He was immersed in the bands unique sound and reveling in it. Somebody posted a link to a FR interview in 76....and he was talking about the importance of "getting the floor to bounce" to get the right sound for making an album He was so right. He got it. And yes he gets loads of stick on here, but I believe we all loved the rock god that he was. I get that he wanted to become as big as possible. I get that he thought changing/modernising/ "going commercial" or poppy would be the answer. I get that he tried those things. I don't get why he never went back to what had worked, and neither do I get why he doesn't seem to love it all now. I still think he probably does really love it, but has complex reasons why he won't say so...probably involving a refusal to admit to himself that what came later simply wasn't nearly as good....and that he's been spectacularly wrong.

He must just be sick to the back teeth of being a performing monkey, churning out the same songs over and over and over again, night after night.
If you're a creative person, and you're reduced to earning your living from playing the same songs year in, year out, it's bound to have an effect.

Agreed, although it doesn't seem to have affected Rick in the same way.

Simple, he snorted himself, and thus turned himself inside out.
In short, he disappeared up his own nose. It wasn't his septum that fell out in the shower, it was his brain.
You can apply this theory in any sort of post-85 debate.
