3 CD's
2 DVD's

And all me, myself and I think of it is:
Sad days indeed....

What has the worst ZZ Top song ever to do with a decent Quo videos compilation including some rarities?

The line: I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.... And there are a plethora of bad ZZ Top songs, this one is at least in the top (!) 50... imo...

I know why you chose that song but given the 27 minute version of Is It Really Me/Gotta Go Home it isn't really fair to the DVD, no?
ZZ Top are much more baffling than Quo by the way, unlike Quo they have never recovered. La Futura was dreadful.

My reasons for not wanting to touch anything Quo-ish are personal, not musical. And, when did Quo recover?

My reasons for not wanting to touch anything Quo-ish are personal, not musical. And, when did Quo recover? Probably around HT. I mean compare the majority of 80s/90s Quo with 00s Quo... Francis getting back to working with Bob Young certainly had an effect. IMHO, songwriting is more important than lineups. It's substance > style for me.

I had hope for a while, yes, but TAFKAR steers the ship towards a harbour I don't wanna visit..... And, the "right" line-up can make an average song lift to unexpected heights, thanks to chemistry, (both in mind and body...) The current line-up has delivered, but one of the key ingredients fails miserably.... imo.

Well put,its the chemistry of a band reading each other second sense if you like, giving all youve got for your fans and getting off on it, no amount of money could bring that, only the feel after a gig that youve given your all,not just going through the motions hoping that one day it may comeback !

So are we having a dig at Quo or ZZ Top?? To be honest, I don't mind Ten Foot Pole. It's miles better than anything that followed Recycler.

I agree that ZZ Top really fell from grace after Recycler, with some good tracks scattered here and there, but the entire El Loco album is just... I dunno. Three songs I'd call 'good' (Tube Snake Boogie, Pearl Necklace, Party on the Patio), a couple I can accept and then stuff like this, Heaven Hell or Houston, Leila, Groovy Little Hippie Pad - overall very disappointing after the excellent Degüello, imho.

Yep, El Loco is a not so good album, but the song is selected because it is a very fine illustration,
