Drummer? Matt Letley was ok those first years then there were more and more some stupid hihat tricks. Not fit for quo (live)tracks. LC is best imo. No mess, just good drumwork like it should goes quo way. PK was a man but that was then,.

Mr. Coghlan is the best. He has "it" imo. Kircher, Letley, Cave, Rich, in that order.
Again imo...

However, they were acutely aware of how much Bonham contributed to their sound and how he had a complete feel for their music. There were plenty of technically superior drummers who could have replaced him but it would have only shown how in a rock band, having the feel for the music is as important as technique. Status Quo have known this, but wilfully ignored this since 1981.

Best? Best technically, or best for Quo? John Coghlan was part of the quartet that made the classic Quo sound, he is the original - & best. Pete did a good job on tour, different but good. The rest are playing as part of a different rhythm section & as a result the post Live Aid Status Quo sounds different - there's just not the same groove. What would have been interesting, soundwise, after Letley quit, is if they'd brought John back instead of recruiting Cave.

Coghlan at the top, then Leon. Letley was shite, Jeff wasn't too bad apart from the speed thing, Kircher was boring.

JC. By a fucking mile. He could also understand that you can actually use a kick drum on 4 beats of a bar.
The rest are very good drummers. Especially Jeff and Matt. Leon is alright but has fuck all soul and swing in him. Typical modern musician really
