I don't know why, but after the big build up of the spoken intro to the Live album intro, I felt somewhat underwhelmed by the time the band came on. I much preferred the drone intro to Caroline Live at the NEC 1982. But then I think it depends on when I discovered the band. I tend to agree it can be with where you were with the band at any given time. I was at the 3 Apollo gigs and the excitement, as you say, before the band came on was phenomenal. Jackie Lynton walked on to the stage to deliver his now legendary address and then Rick kicked in, doing what Rick did like no one else. Something, sadly for me, they didn't do on the reunion tours. Did Jackie Lynton introduce the band using those same words each night? ( I’m really testing your brain cells now I totally understand 😉)

But, to be fair, I was a little distracted Quo hadn't come on and were waiting in the wings. I was, as they say, focussed

I remember in Canberra and Sydney 75,76, 78 the anticipation of my favourite band travelling all the way from England, plus the loud noise was priority. Still the highlight of my enjoyment in entertainment.

Whatever you want by a country mile, yes over played but think back to when you first heard it. Probably one of the best intros regardless of Quo. Caroline either live or studio and Backwater are also good shouts

Where do you start with Quo intro's? At their creative peak they could churn them out continually, with all Artists of longevity, they became more mainstream to continuing charting, and obviously times changed, single wise it would be 'Whatever You Want', sheer power wise it would be 'Backwater', epic wise it would be 'Forty Five Hundred Times' and for good times live to always put a smile on my face it would be 'Don't Waste My Time'
