Never a great fan of it, personally. I liked the extended musical break in the 12" version but I always thought the song overall was a bit bland.
Everyone will have a line drawn with their perception of what still feels 'new' I guess.

I liked the song, which was in the UK charts at number 10, 41 years ago this week and It chugged along quite nicely and as Mortified mentioned, I also preferred the 12" version. I bought it 3 times!!! 7", 7" blue edition and the extended 12" copy.

Which, when you think of it, is pretty stupid for a song I wasn't keen on Then I think of the various formats of Marguerita Time and In The Army Now I bought. Mental. Collectors, eh? 🙄

Just watched the original vid for the first time in many a year. It's of its time but its one of the better ones the band did. Francis looks great. Alan and Rick with short hair is a shock so that had a negative visual impact. Long hair for your idols was very important back then.
But yeah the song is perfect pop rock if you ask me. Sure it's not what I wanted from Quo but I get the modern commercial side of where they were heading. So long as the song itself was good enough then I could handle a commercial single if the album it was from rocked hard - haha, certainly wasn't the case was it!

I like it, time to look for & listen to the extended version. Haven't heard it, where was extended version available?

I thought it was so much better than the previous album's singles, it gave me false hope for the forthcoming album release

I like it, time to look for & listen to the extended version. Haven't heard it, where was extended version available? It came out as a 12" single the same time as the 7". It's now on the deluxe of Back To Back. In fact, it was on Tim Turan's remaster as well when I think about it.

Not a big fan of it but probably the best song on a disastrous album. Only other one I can listen to on that album is Too Close to the Ground.

The 12" version was better for not having that OTT effect on the snare drum i reckon.
