What do we think of this track?
I think it's a great tune, its got that Quo like style, all be it modern Quo.

It was the best track to come out of that period. Stuck away as a B-side for some reason.
Still very polished with quite lavish production but it stood out a bit from the general AOR/MOR stuff they were leaning towards.

Besides the terrible 80's watered down production, it starts off well and the verses are quite listenable, but then like so much of their material during this period (and way beyond) it falls into a mediocre, bland chorus that doesn't match the style of the track.
To be honest, the whole 80's from BTB onwards was one musical decade for this band to forget - completely.

IIRC, it was on the Ain't Complaining album original track list, but then the delay appeared and it was moved to the B-Side. This and Lean Machine are the two tracks that makes scratch my head thinking of why they were relegated to the 12" B-Side or the CD Single. Nonsense, at least for me. Supposedly, according to one of the biggest collectors of Quo (and the biggest collector of cassettes) who was at the attendance, it was played live in Valencia '88. Just once. Not played in Madrid the day before, and no played in Seville 2 days later (which was a "frantic four" gig as Andy was sick minutes before hitting the stage). I believe him, but since no tape exists...Which is strange, I have bootlegs recorded there of some other bands, but sadly, this wasn't the case

A track that should have been on the album, same goes for Lean Machine.

Pretty sure that, and Lean Machine, went against the 'new' sound they wanted. "We're taking the band in a new direction".

A track that should have been on the album, same goes for Lean Machine. I would have swapped Lean mschine, The reason for goodbye for One for the money and Don't mind if I do, I always skip those two tracks.

Actually I personally see Don't mind if I do as one of the very few tracks on there that I like. I agree on One for the Money though, one of the worst tracks Quo ever made for me. And the other one I would have swapped would probably be Another Shipwreck.

I love this track sometimes - sometimes it's my favourite track of the Jeff/Rhino years, other times if i've been listening to a lot of FF, it comes over as much of that era does, too polite, everything too separated and 'nice', just not edgy like the old Quo and a wee bit happy-clappy. Like i say though, if i'm enjoying that era for whatever reason, this one stands out for me. I like the guitar breaks/solos - presumably Pip Williams adding a bit of 'lift' to the relatively dull output '86-89.
Gotta be in the right frame of mind for this stuff i find, but no point comparing it too much to previous glory years, you'll do yourself a brain injury!

It was released as an Andy Bown solo single way back in the late 70's. I only picked up a copy recently. I wasn't collecting Andy's records at the time because he wasn't a member of Quo. I'm only just catching up! I always find Andy's lyrics very clever; quite witty. But very often the melody doesn't do anything for me.

When the AC album first came out this was one of my favourite tracks. I was almost willing it to be a single.

Really like this one, has some balls and oomph. Not the best chorus but it's mostly a great track
