One of my favorite debut albums. First 3 albums were real gems. Can never tire of those.

I actually admire the fact they aren't bringing in a 'substitute' vocalist. Unlike one or two bands in the past. Wasn't Steve Tyler also in a bit of bother for some sort of historic sex thing? The rumours start here I first took notice of Aerosmith back in whatever year it was (1975?) when I bought Rocks. It's still my favourite album of theirs. Although I'm still quite keen on Permanent Vacation and the very odd track on Honkin' On Bobo. But I've only flitted in and out really. Disliked their power ballads intensely. Never seen them live, although I think my sister had tickets to see them in Edinburgh back in the late 80's. I seem to recall it was cancelled. Nothing changes then Very good band, if inconsistent. And not what you'd call serial tourers.

Great band, a sad but honest ending. Some bands would have still put on the final tour
All the American bands I love are very UK influenced. Aerosmith & Black crowes very Rolling Stones. Metallica very NWOBHM. Guns n roses classic rock and uk punk. Georgia Satellites Quo.
The exceptions are the southern rock bands, Blackfoot etc
Interesting how Quo & southern boogie rock developed at the same time, on different sides of the world without being aware of each other. Very similar in style

Sad it has to end this way. Was looking for an oppertunity to go to one of these farewell gigs. Seen them 3x over her in Holland, all of them great shows. Especially the October 1989 (Pump-tour) gig in Arnhem with The Cult supporting them.

The gig that was cancelled had Guns'n'Roses as support. I did catch them live on a couple of occasions. Underwhelmed would be the best verdict. The ballads killed the gig.

I remember seeing Aerosmith live at the Twin Towers Wembley Stadium in London in 1999. They were excellent.
Lenny Kravitz was also on the bill, he was also excellent.
I remember it being baking hot, especially being in a bowl shaped venue. Fantastic day though.
Oh Stereophonics we're also there and The Black Crowes. Personally I wasn't so keen on Stereophonics.
Aerosmith stole the show though. 😉

Saw them at the NEC around 91/92, they were decent but Joe Perry did have some problems with his sound and was going mad at somebody on the sidelines all through the gig.
