Got this, the Dog ale (which came in a very fetching tin) and the Down Down cider. Only the cider was drinkable  But apparently the Piledriver beer, which you could get on draught in some places south of the border, sold very well. Over a million pints I read somewhere at the time. But you know Quo and stats  |

On the label of the bottle I have, the gorilla is holding a bomb, simular to the cover on the Piledriver album.

Some bell far back in my head rings and tells me that this version with a barrel instead of a bomb was for the swedish market as no violence (as bombs) would be allowed to sell here. Same thing happened with Maidens Trooper beer, a special swedish label with only Eddies face instead of the classic Trooper war scene was created.
Having said this I must say that I may be totally wrong, because I didn’t ever see the Piledriver beer in swedish alcohol-shops…

Oh well... Just checking the interest, don't let me disturb. I just wanted to see if there was any interest amongst the fine people who frequent this forum to acquire these somewhat rarer bottles, I should have anticipated the trend... towards recycling with these!

I learned they sold the piledriver beer VERY late in Spain. If the beer was selling between 2013 and 2014, I learned it was sold here in 2019 or 2020 for example. I don't like beer (well, don't like any alcoholic thing), but I like to collect the ones I see from certain bands, but never saw one of the Quo...

When it was released, I was in my favourite pub on the Isle of Wight and had to do a double take of the tap label, they had Piledriver on tap.
Naturally I had to indulge. Was a great beer, sadly only around for a short while.
