If you listen to RAOTW, do you think the bass playing is out of time?
Alan is playing with swing, while the guitars seem to be playing straight. Always thought something was odd, but only really just noticed now.
What do we think?

My hearing was so fcuked up after Piledriver through to Live by a vinyl playing monstrosity with headphones and bass boost, I never looked up when Concorde flew over, I couldn't tell you what individual instrument sounded like,but, I could tell if Quo were firing on all cylinders and they certainly were during the playout.

Ahhh but was it Alan ...or was it his dummy ?
Now if it was the latter, I could understand. Whoever was pulling the strings would inevitably lead to a delay in Alans right hand , even if the puppeteer was in time

The puppet was so cool. They would never go to that effort these days. Alan was a great driving force in the band, but I'm not sure he was the best bassist.  |

Alan had the mojo, but I think you are right. Sometimes his timing was a bit off. Bass really needs to be locked in.

I don't recall anything Alan played doing anything other than making Quo music more Quo.
