I saw this on Facebook yesterday in the "Glasgow Apollo" group with the accompanying story:
"14th May 1974, fifty years ago today Quo reach Glasgow on the 'Quo' Spring Tour and the 'White Tele' legend begins...
Apparently so the story goes, still in search of a replacement main guitar Rick Parfitt and Bob Young visited McCormack's Music Ltd, Bath Street, Glasgow. Rick spotted the White Tele hanging on the wall, tried it, liked it, had it restrung with a heavier gauge and then played it that night at the gig on approval. Rick commented at the time "it was the best guitar he'd ever played", it was bought for £130 and the rest is as they say history..."
