Seriously though folks, isn’t it really hard to believe that it went from this to Margie, Aquosick and Covers albums. Sad.

One of my Top 5 favourite Quo shuffles. I just love that change up in tempo at 6.50. Classic early Quo.

Baz Barry's Spare Parts, performed a good version of Umleitung at the Quo Convention at Minehead in 2022.

Seriously though folks, isn’t it really hard to believe that it went from this to Margie, Aquosick and Covers albums. Sad. Rossi already had MT written in 1971. It was all an act. Parfitt was in on it of course. The Top of the Pops drumkit incident and Rossi not knowing about it was fake. For what, who knows?

Just praise the track at hand. They’re 2 sides of the same coin so why hide from it? Anyway I would’ve thought that praise for Umleitung was implicit. Hope you retrieve your toys back into yer pram, btw 😉

I think if anything having two sides of the band enhances my enjoyment of the "non commercial"
After everything we've heard since the raotw album - the concentration on "shifting units", I find it a joy to listen to songs where they did their own thing and gave no shits about anything else. I wouldn't have that perspective without the worst side of the bands output
This is one song that does that extremely well. For later period Quo, the stripped back "you let me down" hit a different but welcome spot
As for the "can't believe what came years later" view, I would flip that backwards. This is a world away from the (I think very poor) first two albums of only a couple of years previously. The change was the most dramatic in the bands history
