Bittersweet memories of 10 years ago today. On my own in Dublin to see my heroes together for the last time. Although I still had hopes for perhaps a further βone offβ gigβ¦. Surely there would be time for a celebratory last last ever farewell gigβ¦. Sadly we lost Rick and Alan so it was never to be (but probably would never have happened anyway π) Thank you Francis, John, Alan, Rick and Bob for doing both reunion tours, I will be forever grateful for being able to re-live the music and atmosphere of my youth again! Those tours brought so much joy to us fans! The shared experience was really moving! Thanks now to the Quo family and tribute bands for bringing me so much happiness! ππ

I never went. I didn't believe that would be the last. Why Dublin? How could they possibly not have one or two more gigs to say goodbye properly.
Now we know what was going on in the background....I would have gone.

It has to end somewhere and they were pretty clear about it.
Iβll be forever grateful that it happened. The four nights at Hammersmith I did were just magical. Unforgettable

Yes, bittersweet memories Viv. Thanks for sharing though.
In my heart, I knew that my 2nd gig of two that March at Hammersmith was the last time I would see them play live. I cried spontaneously, and that surprised me and then I realised why. For me my Quo journey was always Hammersmith Odeon, so that was why I didn't want to go Dublin. I had to say goodbye to them there.
Glad you went though.

Dublin was never going to be quite as good but Iβm glad I went! It was stressful though, having bought βresaleβ tickets, I still hadnβt received them before I got there. The person selling didnβt meet me until 5 that afternoon so I was getting worried that it was going to be a scam!! Thankfully it all worked out ok.

Another way I look at is is this. I have seen quo around 30 times pre reunion Iβve been once since and that was to the aquostic.
I saw a different band at Hammersmith than all the other concerts. It was raw, authentic and moving. And fantastic.
The music, the atmosphere the sense of ocadsion. Never ever will I experience that again from any band

The one I regret not going to was the last Monday at Hammersmith. We did the other gigs, but I didn't deal well with being downstairs before so I didn't go on that really really last one (for me), and afterwards I heard that it wasn't sold out, so wouldn't have been so packed. But hey I heard Roadhouse from the ladies' bog, and it sounded as good as ever!

My 3rd Quo gig and my first at the odeon, (I know it's had different name changes throughout the years, but it has always been the Hammersmith Odeon to me) in December 1974, so seeing the same band play at the same venue 40 years later, was a perfect ending.

I saw only two gigs in total on these reunion tours. One each year. Not through choice. Well, not in 2013. But I didn't seem to have the emotional attachment or reaction I was expecting anyway. I have no idea why. Although it's probably because I'm a miserable fvcker at the best of times I never even considered going to Dublin. And I haven't even watched the DVD or listened to the CD. Once I'd done the first reunion thing, it had slightly lost it's magic. The largely static set list contributed to that. And I know I keep banging on about it, but the start of Junior's Wailing was a disappointment. A relatively small thing but it seemed to matter to me. It could have been rectified second time round. But, nope. It was a privilege to see them up on stage together one more time and I'm glad they did it. The atmosphere certainly recreated a wonderful moment in time. It was impossible to recreate anything else such as the movement and energy of the band. But it gave those who missed out simply through accident of birth an experience something approaching very heady days. See? Miserable fvcker

Was there with my Dad and for nothing in the world we would've missed this. The last ever concert of the original lineup of the best band in the world. Glad we went, an unforgettable experience. We stood there arm in arm during BBJ, saying goodbye to the original version of our favourite band.
Still looking forward to seeing them twice here in Germany this summer, Ludwigsburg dad will join me again - only his second time since the reunion.

I only went the once at Hammersmith on the 15th March and that was enough for me, all that fcuking about to get an online ticket. When I saw they were doing it again I just thought bollocks to it, not another final tour.
