Was Rockers Rollin' ever released as a single in the UK? www.discogs.com/release/2290963-Status-Quo-Rockers-Rollin-Hold-You-BackI always felt that Hold you back would have made a better choice as a single, or was this a double A side perhaps? As much as I like Rockers Rollin, I didn't think it was a good choice as a single. There are at least 3 songs from the RAOTW album that got away in my opinion which were Hold You Back, Can't Give You More, and Dirty Water. 2 of those were concert staples too.

Not a big fan of it tbh, sounds like Quo-by-numbers filler stuff.

Not a big fan of it tbh, sounds like Quo-by-numbers filler stuff. I see what you mean, and I will say Rockers Rollin is way down in my list of favourites, and it surprised me they played it live. But Hold You Back is shear class, and a real live favourite, it never failed to go down well live, it's hard to believe it was never released as a single, it has top ten written all over it.

Rockers Rollin has a great outro. That bit is definately not Quo by numbers.
Brought tears to the eye of John Eden on the remix.
Hold You back is a bit poppy for me but works live.

Rockers Rollin' was never a single in the UK but it was in Europe. I have the one that's indicated here. Not sure where else it might have been released.
I think the John Eden remix has given it a new lease of life. I always liked it but some things were so far down in the mix (solos for example) that it spoiled what, for me, was a great track.
Played live on the Rockin' and Heat tours but not since. Although a snippet turned up in a medley a few years back. In 2005 or so in Germany. A medley quickly dropped before it got to the UK I think.
Hold You Back would have been a terrific single. Most Quo songs back then would have. But much maligned as it is, you can hardly knock the one they did choose!

Here in Holland "Hold you back" was released as A-side. It peaked at no.8 in the charts. I think it was february 1978.

Not in uk but in European like people have pointed out. There was no second single release from that album here which was surprising as they usually went with at least two releases by that point.

I liked it 'live' when played linked to "Backwater".

Ah, 'Rockers Rollin'', the start of the descent into self-parody.
By the time 'Again And Again' was released they weren't so much descending as plummeting.
