No doubt in my mind that this song should’ve been the one that the record company should’ve got behind to launch Quo into America. With Ricks good looks and him belting out this song it was a natural for the market. Quo had reached great heights in UK , parts of Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and parts of Asia with number 1 albums and singles. I still can’t fathom how the mostly worldwide popularity fell short in America apart from naive management through lack of record and media contacts. America's loss. Mexico likes them tho.

Yep, the album version for me too - real classy and flies along nicely too, everyone playing at the top of their game👍
Re: SQ’s slide into pop rut, don’t forget, they started in a (f*#kin’ awful) pop-rut, slid out and have slid back in again (imho!) It’s the ‘golden’ period between the 2 pop ruts that I’m here for! 🤣🤪🤘

The full version is an out and out rock classic by Quo. I love the intro, it really does work. I saw Quo Connection the other week, they played the intro before hammering into the song. I agree with Mortified, that had they released it first as a single with the intro, then straight to number 1 I think. Remember in 1976 Quo were huge back then.

Mystery song live or the single is quite a plain piece of music, however the album version surely goes down as the bands finest track,an astonishing piece of music.
