As non-committal as I'd expect. Although, certainly, a new album looks out of the question. A studio album at any rate. As for gigs, I get the impression there will be a few more next year but that might be it. Just reading between the lines. I thought his throwaway remark, " Andy will be nearly 80...." was quite a sobering thought. While we make demands of them.
Come on! Mick's already 80.

And as much as Andy has been an integral part of Quo for decades now, I don't think the fate of the band hinges upon him. He already sat out over twenty years ago and Paul Hirsh filled in for him. If Andy decides he's now retired and Francis still wants to go on a bit longer, he will.

Doesn't count. He's a freak of nature

I think Quo will stop when Francis decides to do it or fate intervenes. Rhino and Andy would not keep the band going as would be little point really. Saying that not sure if Francis would employ another bass player or keyboardist if the other long term members decided to quit. Richie and Leon’s places are probably more flexible but even with them I don’t think they would go down the road of any more replacements at this stage apart from a stand in maybe if someone got ill for a gig etc.

In my view it's time to go! They're a pale imitation of what they were and interest is declining. I think what Francis and Rhino are doing solo, and Leon in Middlenight Men are far more interesting than some old men live. [Idon't mean that unkindly, it's just what they are]
I would be very happy with another album - I feared for Backbone but, as always when Quo have something to prove, it was actually pretty interesting. I don't hold with the 'recording cost' thing - Francis has a studio in his attic, is the best producer Quo ever had and they could make it available digitally through the Fan Club, social media and these notice boards. It doesn't need to sell loads as it would cost little more than their time.

Francis is the elder statesman of rock and commands respect and admiration through his recent talk/chat shows. It was the right thing for him to do at the right time in his life.
Nothing lasts forever and, let's face it, what's the point of carrying on the Quo name when Frame and his mates can never get back what they once had. Sure they can put on a show and entertain but, other than for the fans, what is the real point of it all now? Yeah, I know they may still enjoy it so why not, but something has to give eventually and why not walk away now when everyone is still fit and healthy. Other solo/side projects will keep them all going to some degree. Nothing to be ashamed of - quite the contrary.
A new album, no matter the drive, will be a disappointment. Backbone kinda worked as Frame had something to prove but that was 5 years ago now.
At the end of the day the time is nigh...it's only Quo in brand name anyhow. Hardly going to shed a tear for that - I did that in 84!
