This has to be my favourite on the JS album, but I get the impression it's widely overlooked. Is it a popular track on here?

One of their best in my opinion, hard to imagine why anyone would'nt like it, and the pick scrape to end all pick scrapes . Awesome.

Easily one of my all-time favourite Quo tunes - flawless in its execution - that 'lift' at 2 mins never fails to give me the chills! 🤘🤘

Certainly overlooked in the sense that it was never available on CD until the Tim Turan remasters in 2005. I'd stopped playing vinyl at least 15 years previously so it was missing from my ears for a decade and a half. Which gave it a sort of fresh feeling when I heard it again. It was always a great track and was (I think) written to be used for a remake of the old Marlon Brando biker film from the 50's, The Wild Ones. Yet another project Quo got involved in that never got off the ground. That was to become a familiar story. But classic Quo with changes in key and tempo. Two minutes in, that change is monstrously good Even with the piano tinkering away like the Bay City Rollers on speed

Two minutes in, that change is monstrously good Even with the piano tinkering away like the Bay City Rollers on speed Great analysis 👌 I did exactly the same much to my regret, I stopped playing or buying vinyl records the minute CD's came out, but worse than that I took on the mammoth task of replacing the albums I had on vinyl with CD's. Who would ever imagine vinyl records would come back and actually out sell CD's all over again, and I have jumped on that bandwagon too, and my vinyl collection is growing once again. I always thought it was an odd choice the back to back series sandwiched two Quo albums on one disc, but to my horror ommited The Wild Ones from the CD. I was so shocked at the time because I didn't notice it until I brought it home and started playing it, I was like this has to be a mistake, I felt cheated because it was and still is my favourite track on the album. In hindsight they should have ommited Rock n Roll as it was on 12 Gold Bars two on CD and various other complications by now. But all the Quo albums should have been on individual discs in the first place, it seemed an odd thing to do putting two albums on one disc. I'm surprised there wasn't more uproar from the fans at the time when albums from other artists had their CD's released on individual discs as they should have been. My first ever CD I bought was Bon Jovi - Slippery when wet, but that was due to zero availability of any Quo stuff on CD at that time, plus my Slippery when wet cassette had seen better days which I used to play in the car. My God when I think how much I paid for a car CD player, an eye watering £400 Pioneer one, but the early models skipped as you hit a bump in the road. Oh those were the days 😁

Quo always came across as the poor relations when it came to releases, particularly when CDs took off. Until these Back 2 Back things came out, all we really had from the back catalogue were the actual Back To Back album, which I managed to get at the time, and the two 12-Bar jobs. I think (although don't hold me to it!) both Never Too Late and 1+9+8+2 had come out briefly a few years earlier as well. I never actually saw one though because I never trawled through the CD racks until I first had a player in 1988.
And then these two albums on one disc issues came out, although I did see the same series of releases for one or two other artists for a while.
High Flyer was, of course, omitted as well. Really daft releases when I think about them now.

Never forget that my father put this in a mix tape just after some Sex Pistols songs and before a Las Grecas song (If you want to know the song click, BUT AT YOUR OWN RISK)
Still love this song (the Quo song, not the Grecas song), and thinking it was buried in a mix tape like that...My father is nuts. I remember doing tape to tape copies just to safety purposes as I didn't have the Supposin' album at that time and other songs from the Supposin' album were at other mix tape, also appeared in that tape, but this was just in that tape (I think Lies was on the two tapes, maybe Run to Mummy too). Sadly the tape is lost now. Don't know if it is still somewhere in my parents' house.

Never forget that my father put this in a mix tape just after some Sex Pistols songs and before a Las Grecas song (If you want to know the song click, BUT AT YOUR OWN RISK) After first 30secs or so, I thought this might be a Spanish version of Pictures of Matchstick Men, but then got to the na na na na's and realised my mistake, obviously influenced by the Dog Of Two Head album instead. Yes I like The Wild Ones, a bit different sounding kind of a track for Quo in places, but in a good way and the tempo change 2mins in as everyone says is just pure Quo joy, it's like they are messing with you, saying "haha got ya, yep it's still us don't worry".
