Just for fun really what tracks would you add or take away from albums?
Spare parts- Remove Mr mind detector, Your just what I was looking for today, The clown
Add- Make me stay a bit longer, Do you live in fire, Josie
Ma kelly- Remove Everything, Lazy poker blues
Add In my chair, Down the dustpipe
In the army now-Remove Speechless,
Add Lonely,
Ain’t complaining- Remove Don’t mind if I do, The loving game, One for the money
Add Lean machine, Reason for goodbye,
Rock til you drop- Remove Tommy, Good sign, Bring it on home,The price of love
Add- Mysteries from the ball, Better times,Dead in the water, Heavy Daze
Thirsty Work-Remove- Sail away, Like it or not, Tango
Add- She knew too much, Democracy, Survival
Under the influence-Remove-Roll the dice
Add- Driving to glory
Heavy Traffic- Remove Another day
Add- You let me down
The party ain’t over yet-Remove The bubble, Cupid stupid
Add- You’ll come round, I ain’t ready
Everything else fine really or not many alternative tracks around in the era of the albums not mentioned..

I would cull most tracks from Rockin all over the World and If You Cant Stand the Heat and merge the leftovers into one decent album.
Ma Kelly, agree get those two in but just axe Everything ..the track that is, not everything..

Nice enough song but sounds like something left over from the previous album and doesn’t really fit in with the bands new style the same way Na na na na does on the following album. I imagine they needed one other song to put on the album and this was maybe all they had at time as not putting the singles on albums was still a big musical trend at the time.

Yep not quite right for the transition, whereas In My Chair is still one of my fave tracks.

I think your changes to RTYD would have turned this album into a classic (although I don't mind Good Sign)

I would love to know the thinking to place Tommy in a more prestigious place than Mysteries from the ball on RTYD

Remove the execrable Come Rock With Me / Rockin' On from Whatever You Want & replace it with almost anything - even silence!
I'd have included Softer Ride on Piledriver & Lonely Night on Quo.
Time To Fly would have been a nice addition to an album of the era.
Dog Of Two Head is a song short, imo, which is probably why they did the Nanana "extractions" to pad it out.
All Through The Night was too good a track to be just a b-side.

I think your changes to RTYD would have turned this album into a classic (although I don't mind Good Sign) Rock til you drop had the best physical sound for the 90s albums and everything high in the mix Francis did a good job here with the mixes. The track-listing for the album was messed up a bit as think via interference from management demanding more covers being included. Apparently to sources this started out as a covers project to capitalise on the previous years anniversary waltz success. I am not sure when it was decided to mix and match it up. The re recorded inclusion of “can’t give you more” was a bit contrived to do the perrier water promotion which fell through at the last minute otherwise it may have not got that far? As you say including the b sides instead of certain tracks may have made this a near classic Quo album. Not sure why Tommy was redone and price of love ? At least with can’t give you more they had a logic. The re recording of 4500 times was the only good move regarding re working.

Thirsty Work-Remove- Sail away, Like it or not, Tango Add- She knew too much, Democracy, Survival This is an improvement? There have always been the odd B-side or extra tracks that I'm sure we all prefer to some of the songs on albums. But, I must admit, there was nothing during these Thirsty Work sessions I'd add or replace. Almost everything they recorded was bland and just not for me. I think the most obvious songs that didn't make it on to albums, for me anyway, are Heavy Daze and Better Times. Although Driving To Glory and Obstruction Day fit the same bill. And Shifting Sands is a very good shout. Best thing they never properly recorded. I'd probably have chucked Tune To The Music on the Dog album as well, although goodness knows what I'd replace. Mean Girl maybe. But it's a big maybe.

Remove 2 thirds of 1982, remove all bar a couple from BTB. Remove all from ITAN all the way up to HT. Completely wipe all of them clean, except Power of Rock. That'll do the trick.

For Thirsty Work I'd keep Soft in the Head, ditch the rest and release as a 7" single. The b-side could be one of those fancy etched discs that don't actually play anything. You know with their autographs embossed onto it.
I think if that had come out in 1994 I'd have thought it was quite a cool single. As opposed to the crushing disappointment I felt wading through that album.
