That's a shame.
I remember her seeing her perform an In Concert thing on BBC 2 way back when I was in my early teens. My cousin was a fan and she was babysitting my sister so I just sat and watched it. Thought it was OK.
I couldn't call myself a fan though. I was never a 'folkie'. But she had a unique voice.
I saw her fairly recently on Jools Holland and she looked and sounded very old. Older than she actually was. It was amazing how much she'd changed but then it had been about 50 years.
RIP, Ms Safka.

RIP Melanie. Always loved her songs and that beautiful voice. I was a bit of a neo hippy for a while and she was partly responsible.
Lay Down was a favourite on the hippie parties, as was her version of Ruby Tuesday. The next one I always liked, although I've never understood the concept of "Leftover wine". Enjoy.
