You could say it's dreadful. I like the beginning of it.

Not dreadful. Not compared to some of the rest of the album.
But it has that lazy, by the numbers quality that Not At All had.
Not great but listenable.

I like this album, besides the dire Tommys In Love.
The production lets the album down, and a lot of the songs end up sounding like demos. The drums on a handful of tracks sound like a drum machine and nothing like Jeff playing an acoustic kit at all - Doing It All for you is one of said tracks

I think a remix of the album might work wonders, although I appreciate that's not going to happen.
Sonically, it is very flat and some so-so material is rendered even less attractive as a result.
This track is an unusual composition in that it's from Jeff, Rhino and Mike Paxman. Maybe unique in that respect, although I'm not 100% sure.

The bland Status Quo.
It started and eventually it finished. Nothing grabbed me at all other than Andys keys. Not sure if they added or detracted from it . Overall erring on the latter.
Not for me.

I get the impression that what we call bland (and I include myself in that), others often like, especially within the band. Particularly Francis, I'd say.
I like my music with a bit of an edge to it. Not always, but that seems to have been my overall preference. Although that 'edge' is very hard to describe. But The Way I Am doesn't have it.
I suspect it's a melodic thing. But it's hard to analyse. I've always found that Rhino's solo albums have that edge. But I couldn't define it.

The song itself isn’t bad at all just not right for the band. If it had been given to someone else it may have been a hit.

Back to Perfect Remedy. It all sounded so insipid to my young ears. I bought the tape and still clearly remember the opening wee riff to Little Dreamer and thought this might be OK, then in comes the cludgy, plodding Quo by numbers when the rest of the band comes in, lightweight yet stodgy at the same time.
And that was me done for many years, until the HT era.

2/10 The problem with these dodgy Quo tunes is that I immediately have to stick on one of the classic 70,s albums to remind me how good Quo were.I shouldn’t as non comparable but hey ho.

Recorded in Nassau which reflects the mood of the album. To much smoking & Quo going through the motions. Only decent track is The power of rock.

I think it's a decent enough song, just not a Quo song, just Quo-ish.
Of it's time.
