The press release says, ‘no more tours’ NOT no more shows. Rossi even says they will probably still do the “odd special”. It’s good news to me, they should have gone down this route years ago, would have made Quo gigs special! I also bet there will be at least one more FF show, somewhere along the line.

Yes, and we can dream about what "odd special" might involve! They could do 2 shows a month for two years, and that wouldn't be a tour.... There's more holes in the announcement than Swiss Cheese Also looks like that the winter tour 2017 will be acoustic

Plc...would be more successful....

Yeah I hope it's not THE END END, but it does seem like it's not 100%. The way they did Aquostic, I can't see any mileage in that at all. If they did another acoustic album and did it how I think they should have done in the first place, more bluesy, less hillbilly and without all those extras, then that could be of interest. I mean there was 5 guitarists up on stage and how many guitar solos were played? Just get rid of all those other people, get some bongos for your drums, maybe a harp and bit of piano by Andy Bown and if you really want to do the odd jig/up beat thing, maybe for 1 track, add one good violin player and do an Irish jig as part of a bluesy acoustic Roadhouse Blues or something.

Hi All, Here's a thought maybe it's simply because they are not selling out enough to make it viable to tour ? Only to play certain gigs every now and then relying on the smaller venue that would then get packed out simply because of that fact.
After all if they play a few shows a year it may just give them that taste of what they miss to put on really good performances when they do ? Having said all this things obviously need to change if they are failing with attendance numbers...
Geoff.

The odd special? It'll be charity events and minor things on TV.
There is no way on Earth Francis Rossi would spend all the dough from a hand full of gigs on crew, rehearsing, hotels, catering and transport. It would loose money.

Instead of the current electric set they tour every year, I suppose they could do the rounds of summer festivals across europe instead of a full blown tour. To make another acoustic tour viable it'd have to be truly stripped back as it should have been in the first place - but are they up to that? Maybe that won't be possible so, despite Rossi's reservations, perhaps the very end will come in about 18 months time with a final reunion.
