One of their latter day greats. In fact, it's well up there as one of my fave Quo numbers of all time. It's basically a Rick and Bob Young jam that turned into this awesome, atmospheric song. I would love a longer fade out but that would apply to many a Quo track. But everything here is spot on - the guitar interplays and reverb sound, Rick's vocal, the thumping bass lines and drums and of course Bob's superb harmonica improvisations.
I love the production on it too. The track just ooozes class. Think I'll play it again right now.

Never a fave of mine. For me is the JS album the worst FF album.

Truly magnificent. The last of the 'long' ones. We all know it should have closed the album. Pretty much the same tempo all the way through, which is unusual for a song of this length. When I first played it, I knew as soon as I heard the opening 20 seconds I was in for a real treat. And it was even better than I imagined it would be. A superb track from a superb album. 43 years and sounding as fresh as ever The song that is, not me

Love Coming and Going but it draws me to Brainstorm from Hawkwind, well the opening bars anyway

One of Ricks finest moments in my opinion. I thought the band we're in a particularly creative period at this time, and musically on form.
Enough tracks we're created during the Just Supposin' sessions for two albums, which is exactly what the Never Too Late album was, it was left over tracks from the JS sessions. If I had to be pushed for an answer, I actually prefer the NTL album, I thought the songs we're overall better, but JS is still an outstanding album, and it highlights how great the band we're at this time.
I think the only thing that was a negative towards NTL was the fact it didn't have as much variation in terms of vocals, as there was no lead vocals from Alan or Rick, but when you concider it was an album of left over tracks, collectively there was probably tough decisions being made at the time, and probably only intentions for one album which was obviously the JS album.
Obviously someone eventually decided the left over tracks were too good to leave on the shelf, and how right were they?
I suppose in hindsight, the tracks could have been used on future albums once they recorded some more tracks with Alan and Rick on vocals, but then we were about to lose Coghlan on drums, so the album NTL may never have seen the light of day if they did that.
