I always thought the harmonies in this were as integral to the song as whatever you want but they stopped singing them for some reason

Sorry, I can't listen to this. Well, I just did and how far a cry it is from Quo Live and even from MK. No balls, no swagger, no guts. Maybe it's the mix or maybe its Rick and Francis thinking they can still sound like Quo without their original rhythm section.

It sounds thin and with no heaviness.

It sounds thin and with no heaviness. We've had Quo Lite, Panto Quo and now it's Diet Quo...I rather like that.

It does sound very thin when compared to, say, Liverpool Pops in 2005 (it had more balls than a juggling octopus ) so I can only presume it's the mix.

It's a live mix, straight from the board on the night of the show. If a remix were to ever happen, it would sound more full, à la Pips mix of the 18th December show for the Rocking All Over The Years release

How many Quo gigs have you been to? Do you really expect them to sound in 1989 like they did 13 years previous? I saw Quo once in 1979 and quite a lot since then and hand on heart, the 1+9+8+2, End Of The Road, 1990 and 1991 tours were the best I ever saw them perform. All bands change and I'm sick and tired of all the trying to compare 1970's Quo to any other era, yes the music was better in the 70's but that doesn't make the music that came later any less important. I love all eras of Quo but equally I dislike some stuff too, but I don't constantly listen to stuff I know I won't or don't like, just so I can fire cheap shots, it's pointless and has been done a million times.
