A lesser known Quo track, but pretty good I think. Wondered if anyone else had an opinion on it, assuming you've heard it before. Found a Classic Rock article on the making of it.

To say 4500 is ‘pretty good ‘ is like saying Lionel Messi is ‘pretty good ‘ at football.Best Quo song ever imo.

It's simply brilliant and not only one of Quo's very best, but one of the best songs ever recorded.

A Masterpiece. Love the Original, same with NEC '82 and EoTR vesions. Were Quo (really) ever this good again?

Never heard a bad version of it, always a highlight either live or just listening to the album.
Totally agree with Alan over the segue with Rain . I would say if you are going to truncate it live, although no need to, then Gotta Go Home and Ùmleitung are much better choices.
Pure Quo at their best.

Anyone know why they called it Forty Five Hundred Times? Why not Twenty Six Hundred Times, or Eighty Two Thousand Times, etc? Or is it one of those things that wasn't really given much thought other than that they came up with it, thought it sounded good and went for it? So similar to the reason The Beatles were called The Beatles and not The Shoes, according to John & Paul...?

Hugely influential in my life. The original remains the best thing I've ever heard.
It virtually encapsulates the band in one 10-minute (or so) masterpiece. Changes in tempo, brilliant hooks, power, melody, the works. All in one song.
It literally never got any better than this.

26 feb 1977, Edenhal Amsterdam. Standing against the barrier in front of Frame, soaking wet, pushing, shoving as usual in a pit, and then the intro from 4500 Times.....heaven !!!!!
