Whenever I was in a folky, melodic, MOR mood (not that often!), I would rustle up some of Roger Whittaker's songs on Spotify and listen appreciatively to his dulcet tones. And, back in the day, I seem to remember having a live tape of his with all the hits, which was in my car (when cars had cassette tape players) for a long time. May he rest in peace.

I'll be honest, I didn't appreciate he was still alive!  He seemed to be around forever. I wouldn't have been that surprised if he'd been older. Never a fan but I remember him clearly on Saturday night shows, including his own. Sitting watching with my mum, dad and sister. Waiting on the whistling bit  RIP, Mr W. |

Thanks railroad007. Yep, he was one of those names I knew better than his songs. But still, sad news. We already have a thread on his passing. So I'm moving to that one. |
