I was alerted to this yesterday. Sis saw it on Facebook. Not being a paid up member of that social club, I'm not sure how I'd have found out about it otherwise The marketing of it is a little disingenuous (no shock there) in that 3 of the songs came free with the book anyway and the other (I believe) is given away at the meet & greets. So the bonus for some of us is really just the live stuff. But like the recent Amsterdam release, it's one for collectors only really. It'll probably never see a turntable.

A flimsy (very) little drawer that pops out the side of the monitor. Any CD I get goes in there to be converted to mp3. Or whatever personal digitised music is called these days. I dare say it's because I'm getting on a bit but there's something throwaway to me about 'instant' music. As soon as it's digital or streamed, it seems to become unimportant. There's no effort involved in listening to it. You can change it at the press of a button. Then again, maybe music is unimportant and I've been wrong all along

thats why i have a turntable, you have to listen to the whole of one side, then flip it over. You listen to the music as it should be, nothing more refreshing than putting on Quo Live and it being in the wrong running order :-). I have a turntable, tuner/amp, CD player and Twin Cassette deck. Ma Kelly's on Cassette was sold for £50 on ebay a few weeks back, they are making a comeback.

FR plugged the release on his Radio 2 chat on Sunday morning with Michael Ball. He brought up his Insecure Little Show Off line (surprise)
He talked down his guitar playing especially his rockier side and preferred playing his shuffled style on the Tunes & Chat tour. However I enjoyed his banter and would loved to have gone to one of the shows, however no chance of him bringing the shows to the antipodes.
He said he had one more Quo tour in him and then who knows.

Then again, maybe music is unimportant and I've been wrong all along To me it's all about distractions - a bit like having a film on while browsing on an iPad. I try and make time for one thing now and then, so a music listening session with headphones, or on the Sonos, no reading or 'multitasking', just listening. Same with films. I've been known to sometimes use a VR headset to watch films as there's no chance of distractions. It sounds odd but the effect is amazing, like being in a cinema (albeit it with goggles strapped to your head 😁). I have no physical media anymore. A few I regret giving to charity but on the whole, I prefer listening to anything anywhere, anytime! Of course there's huge nostalgia with albums, but I've no desire to go back. Might buy this though? ripcaster.co.uk/Linn_Sondek_LP12-50

How much?? Will it make Lewis Capaldi sound any better? I rest my case But I'm with you, 4th Chord. One thing at a time. Always have been. My stepdaughter, when she was younger, used to have music on while she studied. That's something I could never have imagined doing. One would distract from the other. In fact, both would distract from each other. Which probably speaks volumes about my concentration span Or preferences

25 quid isnt really good value for money.
I already have the songs on cd.
Had there been eg 10 live songs then maybe i’d have been tempted

I didn't buy the book. Did goto the tour but didn't buy the meet and greet
Pointless to buy vinyl as I'm not a collector (at least, not anymore). Just would like to hear it
I can just about still listen to a CD in the car so would buy one if I could
Suspect francis would make slightly more dosh if he issued a CD
Totally understand why it's not going into streaming services - he'd be lucky to get five quid

This 10" mini album ( single?) pitched up yesterday. I'd forgotten all about it. No download code. Which is a bummer. Still, into the vast collection of worthless memorabilia it goes One day, all this will be yours, Mr Bin Man

The vinyl ritual. 25 seconds to get up, get to the turntable, lift the disc, turn it over and place the needle. The vinyl ritual. There was always the opportunity to play the Pinky & Perky version by turning up the speed to 45 or going totally insane on 78. You can actually see on the grooves what type of song it is going to be. Backwater had a tightly packed bunch at the start and then a space for the quiet build up. The groove pattern on Mystery Song was big indicator of what was on the way.
