10 Years Ago.. this happened

10 years, it's unbelievable. I remember everything like it was yesterday, the day before I was in Liverpool and the day after dad picked me up at the airport and we had dinner. And I wasn't allowed to say anything because he wanted to be surprised in London. That was one of the hardest tasks of my life. To tell how great it was without spoiling. I almost burst.

But how awesome that the band gave us this gift - just in time. Now half of the FF is already gone... crazy.

Never never never will I forget this day!

I dug deep in the old message board and here's my post from 10 years ago:

So, back home. I do not know what to say or write. I am still speechless and overjoyed. That was the best Quo concert I've ever seen. The setlist was fantastic, partly from LIVE!, then all of a sudden BEL came on and Oh Baby, I almost fell over!!!
The reactions and emotions were just unprecedented. I have got a huge tinnitus today, but not from the music, but from the primal scream the quo fans let out when the curtain dropped and the 4 of them were standing there in Hello Pose. Never have I heard people that loud!!! I had goose bumps all over my body, grown men next to me shed a tear or two - unbelievable, brilliant, indescribable, touching....
Almost more beautiful than the music were the little gestures on stage: deafening applause when Francis "introduced" Alan and John, Alan leaning on Francis to rest for a moment, and above all, the two of them beaming at each other over and over again. Incredibly beautiful scenes.
Of course, there were many screw-ups, e.g. John started with Railroad, broke off because Rick and Francis thought, it was time for Oh Baby. They start playing that, and break off after 30s. "Shit, the drummer was right". So first Railroad and then Oh Baby. All these little things, made this evening apart from the music (highlight: BEL!!!) to something very special, which I will never forget! And the mood, the atmosphere was unique. Never before have I experienced such an atmosphere, sometimes I was no longer standing, but hanging in the air stuck between the other people, because just everyone was jumping, headbanging and singing along. Unique!
If that was rock and a rock audience yesterday, then the "normal" Quo are Schunkelpop and kindergarten.

Had really not thought that it makes such a difference from the audience, as announced on here by some, but it was. A difference like day and night. Great atmosphere! It was a pity that 4500times and Roadhouse Blues were played so short. But it doesn't matter, the 4 of them were together on one stage again and rocked the Apollo. Fuck it!

And what I would never have believed: How completely different songs can sound when played with a different drummer and bass player. Some of them sounded like new songs. John and Alan harmonize so incredibly, it's a real joy to hear the two of them together. They are soooo...I can't describe it, listen to it. It sounds insanely good, just right.

That's it from me, I'm infinitely looking forward to Glasgow on Sunday, until then I'll listen to the CD from last night. MOTT is playing right now

Edit: The longer I listen to the CD, the more I notice that Mr.Coghlan has got it. He plays the drums so fantastic - I can't get out of the raving.
