i am very jealous, seeing the lights is on my bucket list.
Excellent pics, would love to know what kit you used for that and settings as one day i will get to see them.

People got decent photos on their iPhones. I was out with a Nikon Z7, Nikon 14-24mm f2.8S wide open at 3 seconds, ISO 1250. The camera of course makes the colours far more visible and vibrant, but that night in the pitch darkness, you could see with the naked eye the dancing green columns, and fainter red pillars reaching high into the night sky. Incredible luck to be in the best of locations on holiday, only partial moonlight and a crisp, clear and dark night. |

I've never seen the northern lights. Usually it's too cloudy when they do happen to pitch up this far south. That and, of course, the lights of the city have an impact. Maybe I did see them in the 80's and I just thought it was the effect of something I'd taken  |
