Does anybody here know if there are any plans for some Record Store Day release this year? I saw today that there will be a gatefold double lp with one of the concerts from the recently released Thin Lizzy Live&Dangerous 8cd box set. A few years ago the same thing was done when one concert from the UFO Strangers In the Night cd box set was released as a vinyl double on RSD. Wouldnt it be brilliant if Universal decided to release a cd box set with the four Quo gigs from 1975 and/or the three from Glasgow 1976, the entire Tokyo Quo gig and Hammy 1979, and then released one or two of these gigs as vinyl for RSD? That is my dream!

I would love them to release the Live! EP from 1975 on 12" 180 gram remastered red & black swirl Vinyl, all 3 tracks from the EP on side 1, and Roadhouse Blues from the On The Level remaster on side 2.

There always seems very little interest from Quo (or whoever takes these decisions) in RSD. Although, these days, RSD is less of a big deal to be fair and vinyl re-releases are put out on almost a weekly basis now. What we haven't had is anything rare. We've had coloured vinyl and pic-discs but little else to whet the long term fan's appetite. The last set of RSD releases had all been available before in other formats despite the fact the blurb said the live tracks from 1990 had not been. Little white lies, eh? Most of the interesting stuff now is coming from unofficial sources such as the Doing Their Thing and Live In Europe releases. OK, it's not as if they have never been available as bootlegs but quite a bit of effort seems to have been put into some of the packaging at least. I appreciate they're still technically bootlegs. How about a 7" pic-disc of Marguerita Time? Oh, hold on....

I can't understand the hostility to it, it's no better or worse than Ease Your Mind and that's a good one.

Too true, there are quite a few songs that fans are hostile about such as Tommy & Baby Boy and I don't understand why those in particular. I don't mind those songs but don't love them, I can think of much worse such as the abomination that is Green, the only original Quo song I truly despise.

I'd choose Ease Your Mind over Marguerita Time most days of the week.

It's shite.

Isn't personal taste an odd thing? I love Green. Can't stand either version of Tommy.

My ultimate RSD release would be a blue Vinyl 180 gram remastered 12" of Quo's full appearance at Live Aid, they could have the 3 tracks on side 1 and either leave side 2 blank, or have it etched with the 2 guitars logo.
This is probably a million miles away from something that would/could ever happen, as I'm guessing Quo's Management/Label would have to pay a lot of money to get the tracks from BBC/Geldof.
