Sheer Heart Attack: Brighton Rock, Now I'm Here, Killer Queen etc. No duffers, the best they did. Am I right?

You are, indeed, on the money. Best album of theirs by a mile for me. The first two set up the general direction but this one got to the destination. After that, it was all a bit bombastic and showy and I began to lose interest. So just picked at their stuff on and off. Last album I bought was News Of The World. We Are The Champions sealed the deal. I was off

Sheer Heart Attack and even Innuendo are my go to Queen albums. Skip the first few tracks and even Hot Space is actually ok. Not overlooked, just ok. For me the worst Queen album was A Kind Of Magic. One Vision aside, it's pretty much half hearted. Flash is a great soundtrack album.

Sheer Heart Attack: Brighton Rock, Now I'm Here, Killer Queen etc. No duffers, the best they did. Am I right? I'd put, Leroy Brown and Stormtrooper in Stilettos in the duff category. While, for me, there are a few pretty average tunes on there, Misfire, Dear Friends and even though it is a heavy rock song, which is where my taste lies, I find, Stone Cold Crazy a bit bland. To be fair though I'm not the biggest Queen fan, though I have most of their albums, my music taste isn't eclectic enough to enjoy everything on any of their albums. For them all I usually love a few, dislike a few and then a bunch I can take or leave.

I like the first 3 Queen albums & would place Queen II at the top of that little list, ahead of Sheer Heart Attack. Thereafter, there's the odd track I quite like - not sure if there'd be enough to make a post-'74 compilation Although, I must say that Bicycle Race / Fat Bottomed Girls was an inspired single release

The Yanks weren't over keen, couldn't really see Mercury winning many fans in the South or the bible belt unlike a devil worshipping Midlands nutter named Ozzy.

Queen II all the way, not least for Freddie's "black side", side 2 of the LP. A masterpiece, and maybe a precursor to Bohemian Rhapsody.

‘News of the world’ for me. 🤘 (except GDML , which is just rubbish - just like with ZZTop albums, every Queen album seemed to have at least one shi*e track, it’s GDML on this album)

Any of the first three are listenable.
After that they're pretty shite, with the odd excellent track thrown on each album.

A Night at the Opera. What an album. A bit over produced for my liking, although not quite a Bat Out of Hell style "kitchen sink" production - maybe it helped pave the way

Never a massive Queen fan but owned most albums, can't really pick a specific album from them but certain tracks were big favourites....
Sheer Heart Attack from NOTW (Because it was heavy as fuck )
The Prophets Song
Rock It (Prime Jive.)
Coming Soon.
Now I'm Here.
It's Late.
