Christine Perfect. She was definitely one of a kind, she went way back. RIP blues lady.

I've just seen this news... I'm very sad indeed. A big fan of her and their music. RIP Christine McVie.

That truly is tragic news. A supreme talent, superlative songwriter, amazing musician and that crystal clear voice. Another lady like Judith Durham where hearing just a few notes and you knew it was Christine. I'm so glad she got to return to Fleetwood Mac, that night at the O2 was truly magical. For her to experience that wave of love as she returned unexpectedly to the stage was magical. Like for John and Alan that first night back at the Manchester Apollo.

I saw Fleetwood Mac with and without her - both gigs were great, manic Lindsey never fails to impress (what an amazing and one of a kind guitarist he is, totally underrated) and entertain, but without her there was a British pop ingredient missing in the grander recipe. The first gig was the Buckingham/Nicks show (and competition!), the second one the real Fleetwood Mac.
Don't stop singing wherever you are, Songbird.

A true legend gone. A wonderful songwriter with a beautiful voice. I watched a BBC documentary about her not that long ago and she really was a one-off. As @bluehighway said, as soon as she sang one note you knew it was her. And to lighten the gloom slightly, I'm sure I remember reading ages ago that both Rick and Francis tried to pull her in the late 60's after an early Mac gig. She didn't let them down gently Sleep soundly, Ms Perfect. And perfect you were

I'd heard of Chicken Shack 'cos Quo talked about them in their early interviews but I'd never listened to them or realised that Chritine McVie was their singer.
Audio only but a great track posted by a fb friend and fan of hers.

Rossi and Rick were indeed huge fans of Christine Mcvie, as said by others going back to Chicken Shack days. I can't remember in exactly what context or situation now, but Christine once referred to Rossi and Rick as a couple of ponces (or something very much like that). They were both mortified, naturally enough, when they heard this and followed with cries of "...no! not Christine Perfect?!".
Quo were seriously thinking about asking Christine to guest on 'Don't Stop'. Not sure why they didn't in the end.
It was a defining moment when 'Rumours' entered the world and the charts. 'Tusk' was a fairly disappointing follow-up album for me. Though it was mainly Buckingham going his own way.

Nope, Tusk was brilliantly leftfield!!! Agreed... Just that Rumours was such a big hit and there's always going to be comparisons...It's quite common for artists I can think of maybe two artists who followed massive albums with another massive album

Nope, Tusk was brilliantly leftfield!!! But uwe...'I Know I'm Not wrong'! I can't deny there are a few moments of magic on Tusk, that track I Know I'm Not Wrong is a personal favourite of mine from Buckingham. I bought the vinyl double album at the time and later on acquired the CD. Never been completely satisfying for me as an entire project and a brave and quirky project it certainly had been! Just feel there is just an album's worth of material that hits the spot rather than a double album. Perhaps I'm missing the point though and it was meant to showcase all sides of Buckingham's personality especially, on an industrial scale. Which actually means that it drags on a bit. Sometimes wonder how some albums would have sounded without the substances. Though that could be levelled at Quo, of course, and too many other bands to mention. Apologies for going off the original thread. RIP Christine.
