He always regretted to not have put all mutual grudges aside with Lee Brilleaux before the latter died. They can now sort it all out. Wilko won't ever "rest in peace", so a JERK IN UNREST!!! is adequate here. Never saw the Feelgoods with him (don't think they ever toured Germany when he was still in the band), but saw them on the Down At The Doctors tour with (the unfortunately by now likewise late) Gypie Mayo - fantastic gig. I was an avid NME reader in 1976/77 and during that time it really turned into a Dr Feelgood fanzine, there was no way getting around the heavy coverage they got. And I remember one scribe stating in his review of a Feelgood gig that - if you take away sweaty suits and the short hair - there wasn't too much of a difference to a Quo gig regarding the ' spirit of (almost solely) male communion' . It was one of the few instances where the NME did not mock Status Quo. I think it was (the late as well, darn) Malcolm Dome who once said that the original Dr Feelgood line up " all looked like they had met each other in some unsavory part of the British Army" - I thought that so brill ianteauxly apt.
