I have a hugely eclectic taste in music, have seen scores of live bands and been a bit nuts on The Sex Pistols, The Police, Pink Floyd, Queen, The Specials, Hawkwind, Iron Maiden, Motorhead + a few others over the years. However, regardless of all of my other music favourites, I always seem to be singled out as 'The one who loves Quo'. It reminds me of the old joke about the man who goes through a 10 minute monologue about all the achievements he's had in life, but complains at the end of each long-explained success: "Am I known as 'John the road layer / house builder / fence fixer / medic...etc? No!'" The punchline at the end is: "I shagged one f*cking sheep!" So when it comes to Quo, do you feel you're known amongst your friends and work colleagues as the equivalent of 'John the sheep-shagger'?

Me, Mrs Mortified and sis. Every event we go to, the DJ announces "this is for...." and on comes Rockin' And, of course, we're expected to get up on the dance floor and do our 'thing'. Sometimes, the three of us just roll our eyes and smile. Then we get up, head to the speaker and give them what they want. Some people look genuinely scared. Fvck' em. They asked for it

I was as a young lad, now I’m ‘the guy who thinks Frank Zappa is God’. Having said that, they’re right, I do! 😉

On more than one occasion I have been subject to the usual comments.
Three chords, they all sound the same, you know the ones.
I was at a dinner at some neighbours not so long ago and I was unfortunately sat next to the the dinner party bore.
The subject of musical preferences obviously came up. From memory he was the usual fan, Adelle, George Michael, Elton John, Michael Bublé and that sort of thing. I got the expected comments.
I suggested that he took a few minutes and accompanied me back to my house, it was only next door.
Got the old playlist out and played "A Year", Unspoken Words", "For You" and "Lonely Man".
Suffice to say the t**t kept his gob shut after that.

Of course. Being in Spain and born in 93, I'm the only one that I even like them from my age. One or two of my rocker/heavier friends says they're alright, but nothing spectacular (even my girlfriend, who got a free trip to Bilbao to see them says that), but the other friends they even dislike them, and the others don't even know the band exits.

Nah, I'm known as "Michael" in my hometown because I wear a fedora.. I get lots of "Hehes" anywhere I go in my town... Getting to the point now where I'm going to lose my shit on someone who does it next as I absolutely hate it...
I don't get that with Quo...All I've ever gotten was, "Quo? Really?" followed by looks of confusion

Yup, that's me pretty much. But, and a big but I am sick to death of trying to explain to people that I do not like much after the Just Supposin' album and I detest the hit singles Margarita Time, In The Army Now etc. Just try explaining the Frantic Four to anyone thats not a Frantic Four fan is just a complete waste of time!

It certainly didn't happen in the 70's. First time I think I witnessed it was in the Anniversary Waltz video. From then on, I began to see it more and more. Being a Quo snob, and a purist, I cocked a snoot at such behaviour

Yup, guilty as charged, we used to do that dance. Flying Angel we called it. Although it was associated with Quo, I very rarely saw it done at a Quo gig. The EOTR 1984 Milton Keynes gig on film captures a couple of fans doing it!
