That was excellent 👍 Francis's insight into things sometimes surprises me. I don't know why because it shouldn't. His take on the "rock is dead" thing pretty much mirrors my own in that, generally speaking, the excitement of looking forward to a new album or piece of music has gone. And it's not coming back. His quote of Andy Bown who said to him recently, " we shouldn't bother; we've had the best of it...." is probably spot on. Cheers for sharing that

Quite enjoyed that interview. Nice to hear a mention of the deluxe editions, even though he (as far as I know) was one of the ones that vetoed a lot of the unreleased stuff we had planned for it... nevermind

Excellent. Shame Francis dosn't do (or get asked to do) more serious interviews like this. He must have a massive treasure trove of stories which would be important in understanding the history of rock!

An albums worth of demos, and the Heavy Traffic tour drone. In the end a small group of the Quo camp wanted only demos that had been released previously to be included, which left us with 3

I do understand your disappointment over the demos not being released. But it's like asking an artist to release their sketches which they planned for the finished work. And they'd rather you don't see those. I only see them when an artist is dead and there's a retrospective of their work. So maybe Francis doesn't want us to hear those practice ideas...

The majority of them are out there already because Bob had them up on his site, so he couldn't be that fussed about them The only one that was truly "unreleased" was the Creepin' Up demo. Rossi / Young and Bowns demos have circulated for some time - I just wanted them issued in better quality

It's a good interview and nice to hear different questions that make him(or the interviewee) think.
Just two observations...
1. He had a problem with Rick saying "rock" and he had an issue with Alan's alpha male mindset. Well, he should probably consider that maybe Rick had a problem with his "oooo I love melody and opera waaaahhh" quotes and the only alpha male I can see that's ever been in Status Quo has been Francis Rossi. He can be very Alan Partridge at times.
2. "I can't play that to my family" I can't play it to my family or friends either, mate.
