My first crush was Purdey. Too young to know what a crush was. I know now, though! Often my dad would shout at me "get up stairs you little Gareth Hunt' thinking he thought of me as the cool, suave Mike Gambit. Sadly I now realise it was rhyming slang.

Oh, I know Mickey Dolenz and Pete Duel, curiousgirl Didn't the latter commit suicide? " Starring Pete Duel and Ben Murphy" is imprinted on my brain! Used to like that. A sort of poor man's Butch Cassidy.... Well, I was young Mickey Dolenz was quite talented I think. Went on to produce (or was it direct) some British TV. "Metal Mickey" springs to mind. I remember The Monkees but probably more from the repeats in the early to mid 70's. Although I did collect the bubble gum cards when I were a nipper. I'm getting all misty eyed now Sadly, yes Pete did. I was a child when that happened. And I couldn't understand why. His character was so cheerful. But around 2010, I read a bio about him and he was clearly depressed, an alcoholic and in need of help. But no-one listened or believed him 'cos they were making too much money out of him and the show. Yes, I believe Mickey was. And I did go onto direct but not sure what. He's still with us. That last of the Monkees.

Wow, I never saw The Avengers 4th Chord . I can understand how she aged so well. I only know her as Patsy and beyond. This was the NEW Avengers. The original Avengers I wasn't allowed to stay up and watch for a few years. It was on at 9 o'clock and considered too scary as well I could hear the music from my bedroom though. That and The Saint. What was it about 9 o'clock and kids? Joanna Lumley looks amazing still. She's 76 now. Loads of women wanted a 'Purdey' hair do back then. And you're still a Gareth Hunt, 4th Chord

Mixed reactions to be fair.

Same era, different country. There was this tv series for teenagers called Q&Q. She was in it.

Just be glad that all your youthful male crushes on actresses didn't get too extreme. There was a local chap who became obsessed with the actress Jill Gascoine who starred in the Gentle Touch in the 1980s. He went completely off his head, became convinced she loved him, left his family and lost his job. Don't know what became of the poor soul.

The words 'poor' and 'soul' don't spring immediately to mind. Although I appreciate we're not allowed to use the term 'nutter' in these days of inclusion and faux sympathy You still get that weird obsession thing though. The BBC's Emily Maitlis has been through it and it's horrendous.

Ah, Jan Francis, quodec 👍 I also saw her in something before she appeared in "Just Good Friends". It was a kids' programme I think. She was a teenager in it. Might have been that prog you mentioned. Long time ago though. Paul Nicholas has been around the block a bit. It shows! Here he is in this wonderful piece of 70's showmanship. Introduced by The Arrows. Remember them?
