Not the best of the albums but this one is probably my favourite.

Standard key of A, with a c and d chord thrown in to attempt to channel ‘Rain’, post 86 Parfitt plodder.
See also keep me guessing, end of the line, shine on, let’s rock, reality cheque, Creepin up on you etc etc

Ironically, I have been getting into this track recently, trying to justify Quo's existence in the mid eighties and throughout the nineties which is extremely hard to do. I know its Rick doing his typical 80s shouting rock star number that Frame so often disliked from him, however, I have to say I really like it. At least it stood out, along with PR, as something credible on a god awful album. In particular, l love the play out towards the end of the track. I have my doubts if its Frame playing or that Pip Williams fella but even so its a great sound. Jeff Rich's drumming during the play out also adds to that hard rock feel (the only time I would say that).

Probably my second favourite track, after Power of Rock and Roll, from the album.

Always my favourite track on the album but it didn't have much competition. The title track is the only one pushing it close for me. It's one of those that would have benefited hugely from a better arrangement. And the production seems very dull. In other words, plenty of unfulfilled potential. It does have one of my favourite Quo lyrics though; " There's a hole in the bed where I ain't seen you for days; got a pain in my head coz I'm back to my bad old ways" Typical Rick really. Oh! What A Night 11 years on

One of my picks from the album also. I know it's not a great song; but, theres something about those shouty Rick rockers of the mid to late 80s I like.
PR is an album I put aside for years. Upon revisiting I rediscovered this track as well as some of the bonus cuts on the remaster. My PR playlist includes Man Overboard, Power of Rock, Doing it All for you, The Way I Am. Heart on Hold I enjoy as it's so different for Quo. Little Dreamer and Rotten to the Bone are decent.
PR includes some of my least liked Quo material - Address Book, Tommy, Going Down for the First Time, Gone thrust the Slips - so banal and bland, it does elevate the good stuff a little higher than it may normally be.

Only one rotten from Perfect Remedy, there must be a typo mistake there somewhere.

I think the riff during the "save my soul" bits is great and wonderfully simple. Doesn't really remind my of any anything else Never took to end of the line but it doesn't remind me of anything else. Same shine on, which I think borrows Rorys Heavens Gate, not Rick's other songs I agree that creepin and reality cheque are very standard Rick fayre style songs. Overall I have "no problem" (ok, there's another derivative one undermining what I'm saying 😁) with his later writing style. I think it's simply that his best songs had been written by then. None of us could have reasonably expected him to trump Rain or MS as the 70's became the 80's Virtually all songwriters peak before 30

I was never over-keen on this kind of shouty rock vocal 80s produced track as far as Quo were concerned. As well as some of the pop power ballad attempts they were trying to be something they weren’t a bit. I would have liked to have seen a more laid back contribution from Rick on this particular album really.
