Did a screen grab of this ages ago... Steve Rothery from Marillion - WHAT is the 'black plastic with wee wheels' looking thing on the guitar? I've tried googling it but I can't crack it... Anybody know what it's called? I'm guessing it's something to enhance sustain and/or projection? 🤞

I don't know but it looks like it may be some form of Gizmotron. The Gizmotron consisted of rotating wheels which the guitar player could press down onto individual strings to create a drone effect. It was invented by Godley and Creme and was played by Jimmy Page on the intro to In The Evening. It was mounted the other side of the bridge, though. I've never really heard of it since.

Yep, I remember hearing about G&C’s Gizmotron way back. This looks more ‘plastic’ though and it seems (not sure tho’) that Steve has an E-bow in his hand which would ‘assist’ in droning-ish sounds. I wonder could @bluehighway (or his buddies!) shed any light on this? 👍
