To be fair, very faint to the naked eye and needed the camera to pick it out. First time seeing it though for me!

Lovely picture. Seen them several times but mostly further north, gutted I missed them last night.
Is that Mossmorran we can see flaring or the transmitter at Burntisland?

Fabulous! [Btw, bottom right corner looks like a small wave breaking along a shore - that right?] 🤔 👍

Good question actually. I assumed it was Burntisland but Mossmorran is a possibility. Depends where the photo was taken from I suppose.

It's just the TV transmitter. Here's one with the flare going!

It's just the TV transmitter. Here's one with the flare going! Looks like Krakatoa Haven't seen the flaring in a while, although I appreciate it's been summer and maybe too light. They were also told to stop it

I once passed Mossmorran on the way to (or was it out of?) Lochgelly. Donkeys ago. These plants really are an eyesore on the landscape. They also smell pretty awful at times. Detectable from miles away. There's another just up the Forth at Grangemouth. Huge place. But more petrochemical than Mossmorran I think. Although I'm no chemistry master

And Cancer clusters in the villages downwind of it (That rarely gets mentioned). We get its reek when there is an easterly and it's utterly boggin, all doors and windows shut and stay indoors. Mossmingin.
