And when you see what Noel Fielding is wearing, we're slagging Quo??

From memory it was a New Year's Eve thing. They also did Liberty Lane German primetime family variety shows are still stuck in a time warp around 1979 so suits and ties for acts and audiences are quite normal. It does lead to odd combinations of guests though, I once did a Saturday night TV show and the other guests were The Scorpions and Nana Mouskouri.

looks a bit corporate, but hiring Quo & asking them not to wear denim is a bit like hiring the bay city rollers & asking them not to wear tartan

Francis seems to be wearing a suit in all off stage appearances these days, whatever time of year it is
So far in this poll not a single fan has approved...

I can just see Nana belting out Another Piece Of Meat. Go for it, Mouski There's a Deputy Dawg joke in there somewhere. Or maybe there isn't

And I bet he's gutted 😆 Yeah, I know! Although I happen to think he'd care a lot if he knew how many fans he'd lost over the years through his lack of finger on the pulse of his fans During the late 80's fans were dropping off in their thousands. There was a Quo poster with metal hammer in 1989,the clothes and general look was no better than the DS cover. Why the hell did they think that was a good idea? A total no brainer would have been Rick and Francis (not the others) flailing guitars on stage The whole Bula Quo promo was a disaster, totally misread the mood of the fans, still punch drunk on the reunions

Does it matter what they wear, really? You go to see them for the music not a f*ckin fashion show.

I couldn’t really give a shit. Frame looks smart as in that whistle and he would look ridiculous dressing like the Cover of Piledriver.
Charlie watts always looked smart. As did Bowie. Just aging well

tbh, I've just had to change my vote from "No" to "Yes" after watching it again with the sound on as I actually thought it was one of the better renditions I've seen for many years

Clearly yes it does matter mate, because it is a fact that it brings a negative reaction from many fans Quo of course are synonymous with denims and the image of the "band of the people" . Very important and carefully looked after by management throughout the 70's You don't go and see Metallica for a fashion show either But when they briefly wore make up in the 90's, ticket sales slumped

Their image was important to a lot of us. I know Francis likes his suits and feels comfortable wearing them, and he has every right to wear what he likes, even on stage, but we have a right not to like it and not to buy concert tickets for a band that look and sound like a joke. If an artist is not genuine in their love of a certain kind of music they perform, maybe they should retire?

Maybe it's psychological? Quo reflected their audience, they were us and we were them. I say we in the broadest sense (i wasn't born in 1970).
We don't like to think of ourselves in suits and ties, having a jolly good bop along to Rockin' All Over The World, then politely sitting down again. No, we are rockers. And we wish we were young again. Did Quo have to grow old? Did we?
Maybe.
