Shut up Honky. Want a pale ale, Sambo? Or would you prefer a Nigerian lager?
How my dad laughed and I myself was bent double. Bloody gastroenteritis.

And by everybody else. It was fucking shite. Working the late shift,I don't get to see afternoon tv,however being on leave this week afforded me the opportunity to watch a "comedy" double bill on ITV3 of On The Buses and Man About The House. What a load of fucking arse dribble.

Anything that winds the PC mob up is a good thing. I liked it. Currently in amazement watching one of these American type TV reality shows called Fit for fashion. What a box load of shite. Who comes out with this absolute trash? The TV is about to be changed to National Geogrphic NOW!
"You know what I'm talk in' about"......... Grrrrrrr

It was of its time and as Davy said it was shite, but as a kid back in the early 70's it passed for entertainment and it was better than Crossroads.

A bowl of lukewarm skitter for lunch was better than Crossroads. You fancied Miss Diane. And Benny. It was always Noele Gordon for me. I bet she was a right dirty cow!

I don't remember the TV series at all well. I was either too young to watch it and/or appreciate the nuances of the humour. I do recall seeing the film version a few times and there were some genuinely funny moments, but it hasn't aged at all well. Much like Til Death Us Do Part and In Sickness And In Health, it focused on the bigotry of the main protagonist and ridiculed him for it. Something which flew over the heads of the offended by proxy who labelled it as being racist.

You must set your comedy standards very low - it was utter shite. Even if you put aside the racist crap (and no, it didn't fly over my head that the white guy always lost) it wasn't just not funny, it was embarrassingly unfunny.
