Mad isn't it, but some of the bands songs are still growing on us 3,4,5 decades later!
Which songs do you like a lot more now than when first heard? Mostly mine are the softer ones
Off top of head I'm thinking
Living on an island A year Unspoken Words April spring summer wednesdays Softer ride Rock n roll Blue For You Ease your mind Mad about the boy For You Umleitung
Seems that after JS, I either liked a song or I didn't.

Like you RW, I certainly appreciate some of the slower numbers from the earlier albums more than I did back in the day.
However the one which has really grown on me is HARD TIME from ROATW. Think the remix helped as didnt really give it any air time at first, just sort of skipped over it. It's a real grower. Love it now.

Oh Baby, like it much more now, but there is a reason for that I recall.
If I remember correctly an 8-track had 4 'sides' to choose from instead of 2 like a tradition lp.
When Oh Baby was ready to play, there were, which I considered at the time, better songs on the other tracks so I chose them instead.
That happened so often I very rarely listened to it when I owned an 8-track player back in the 70's.
But now...................Oh Baby!!!!

Lover of the Human Race. Always I skipped it, but since the inclussion of the song on one of the aquostics, I hear it from time to time. Stones, Blessed are the Meek could be others. I'm not saying that I love those songs, just that I don't always skip them.
Blue Eyed Lady could be one of the strongest songs that I found it like "yeah, it's alright" at first, even knowing how to play it on the guitar, never found it interesting, but, after the reunion tour, it was like "That's better that I remember".
Lonely Man is another that nowdays I love it.

i find myself growing to like all kinds of Quo songs which I was iniially dubious about.I think that Rossi in particular has a knack for writing catchy choons which grow on you. One of Quo's problems in more recent decades has been that many of the songs are not as immediate as some of the classic period ones.

Francis Rossi would have booted you out, you were obviously stuck on the hard rock road.

Lonely Man is one that has gone from being rather under appreciated by me to being seen as a bit of a masterpiece

When I think of Quo songs that have maybe grown on me over the years, I always plump for You Lost The Love and Gone Thru The Slips.
Didn't like either when first released. Play both quite regularly now.
