Not sure if there are any fans out there but I've always loved the man's voice and his music.
A posthumous album has just been released; containing material he started recording in 2006 but never completed. It's very good and this is an excellent example.
However, what I found interesting about it was that some of the tracks are quite old and have been resurrected or found on old tapes but what his daughter has done (she compiled it and put it together) is taken out many of the synthesisers that made some of the songs sound dated and she's left them fairly organic. I don't recall anyone doing that before. I find that an interesting concept that many won't agree with; certainly musicians who will no doubt feel things are recorded and are of their time. Leave' 'em as they are, warts and all, and as intended.
I'm not sure I agree. Anyone any thoughts?
