Geez I loved Quo as a band back in the day. I feel for Rhino having to step in Alan’s shoes. They simply had a chemistry that was meant to be. Many smiles in that video…

A song I'd have loved to have seen and heard live. Well, I did with the Aquostic version, but you know what I mean. Rumour has it (thank you, Adele ) the band didn't like the song, or at least the way the recording turned out, so they never considered it for the set. I always preferred it - and by some distance - to the other A-Side. I thought it was a terrific single.

Great guitar sounds and yeah, a great single When Quo toured in 86, I was convinced we'd get Lies (or Dear John), Ole Rag Blues and Mess of Blues. Wrong on all three counts!

For a moment there i thought this was live in the tv studio. Must be close to when John left the band? Apparently it was broadcast on the 2nd Feb 1981 (not from an official source - just another youtube clip). I don't see it being this date, as Alan wasn't one for doing TV appearances if the band weren't on tour as he saw it as pointless coming all the way from AUS. I'm going to guess it's from around late March, when they were in Dortmund

There's something about this song that makes it an all rounder for me! It's almost a forgotten gem. As catchy as Covid. I have this memory of getting ready for work in the morning back then. My mum always had the Radio 1 Breakfast Show on and Mike Read actually played it twice in succession, he liked it that much! And he didn't talk all the way through it. The rebel

I assume that this particular appereance was filmed late '80 like the WYP like the TOTPs or another German/French TV shows, or as you say, in the middle of the NTL tour.
