I saw The Zone Of Interest last night. It's based on the commandant of Auschwitz and his family. It's up for several Oscars. Its excellent.

Just saw Argylle, unusual for us to see a new movie but himself was bored so we looked up Rotten Tomatoes. We kind of "bought on trailer". It is seriously daft with a great car chase. Slow in the middle, take a book, but it picks up again and delivers in the second half.

Watched this on Saturday. Good guy versus the bad world. The sort of thing Liam Neeson's made the latter part of his career out of. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Nonsense, of course, but that's part of the escapist fun. The subtlety of the robbery is very good, blast the vault open with an anti-aircraft gun. This is from the period when Eastwood really acted and wasn't an action hero with a big gun and catch phrases. From Dirty Harry(Based on the Zodiac killer so it was really topical at the time) through to The Outlaw Josey Wales this was among Eastwoods' finest.

I'll doubt if I'll watch a better film this year. No CGI,total carnage and the usual crap dialogue. This is a superb film,a genuine detective case brilliantly played by the small cast. Don't miss it on Film 4 while it's still on.

Hardly entertainment though, plenty of documentary stuff out there for this page of history.

Yep, I thought the same tbh - not really a ‘movie’, more a fancy-schmancy art-house attempt at appealing to that particular clientele! I’d (far) rather watch a doc. or read a book on the topic. Did nothing for me at all even tho it was very unsettling. But, ‘to each his/her own’, I s’pose. 👍
