I'd never really listened to this demo properly until today, and I've noticed bits that were reused later down the line in tracks like Lies and Riverside.
I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, or if anyone else had spotted it.
1:!2 similar to how the chorus was sang in Lies, and then the part straight after that at 1:21 "Don't look back it might disturb you, Don't let a thing disturb you..." became "Don't point your finger my way, Don't put the blame all my way..." in Riverside.

Heh, never thought of it that way and, after hearing both parts just now, I'd say it's just coincidental. Or, fine, Quoincidental, if you prefer : p
In a more serious tone, yeah, I see what you mean, but I never hear the other two when I listen to this one (and vice-versa). Well spotted, nonetheless!

All those monotonous and mundane Rossi/Frost country pop pap tunes that destroyed the Quo sound from the early eighties onwards obviously had their foundations from years earlier. I hear this and I hear all the dozens of Rossi numbers he so loved to inflict on us Quo fans. Its all the same and its all extremely poor.

I'd actually never heard this before. It is exactly what you say Quoincidence, it also has Rossi doing that pseudo Eagles West coast Nashville vocal which I don't like. He's been trying to write his version of this song for years. Knowing that this is a Rossi favourite explains a lot.

Yeah, sticks out a mile when you study it a bit closer. I dare say a lot of songs start this way. As other songs I mean. And morph into what they become when other people get involved. I actually find it fascinating that two songs I really like - Lies and Riverside - may have started life as country-style songs that I wouldn't have given the time of day. I guess the basis of most of the Quo songs we like is either country or blues before it becomes uniquely Quo. Nice one

I imagine him sitting there thinking "Can't wait to inflict this on those 70's fume sniffing bastards".

Personally I love Already Gone. Possibly the greatest country rock song ever written! Unfortunately Rossi would get nowhere near that standard of song-writing in his long and varied career.

Surprised this never resurfaced anywhere. I like some of the earlier Rossi frost stuff. They began to run out of steam around 89
