They are different/remixed. But they aren't as different as the others (but neither are Come Rock With Me/Rockin' On). One obvious notorious difference is the lack of the "yo" shout at the start of Your Smiling Face.
On the deluxe of Whatever You Want, Now Hear This is missing a few tracks from the tracklisting that was on the original Vinyl release.
I've been told that it's because the missing tracks weren't remixed and were the same versions as on the Whatever You Want album.
Can anyone confirm that they are the exact same versions and haven't been touched in any way at all?
If I recall correctly, only Living on an Island and Whatever you Want were remixed/butchered. Also Runaway and High Flyer were extended versions (High Flyer contains a longer intro and a end, Runaway contains a few more of drum fills at the end), but to me are the same mixes as the original album.
The other songs, to my ears, are the exact same mixes as the original album, but I never compared them back to back.
If I remember correctly, the mixes *are* different - guitars softened out, vocals with more echo, i.e. all that the label thought would be good for the US market.
The deluxe edition leaving off two songs is still totally inexplicable to me. (They also likely ripped it from vinyl...)
"We all want to intellectualize about music, but it's an emotional thing. Do you like it? Yes. Then there's nothing else to say. Do you not like it? No. Then there's nothing else to say. You don't have to say it's shit or the band are shit. And I believe, too, the most overused words are "great" and "shit." - Francis Rossi
backwater67: Looks like fretbuzzzz has based his sales on BPI sales awards. Back in the 1970s & 80s silver sales were based on minimum 250,000 units sold. (Today silver sales are awarded for 200,000 units)

backwater67: Paul Hirch filled in for Quo when Andy’s wife was unable to tour. Aquostic was a complete different project for Quo. I was referring to a standard regular live gig on stage with session guitarists. Jagger does still take the lead vocal.
