Regarding the Quo live at Olympia tape I had, I think it was only a few tracks that Capital Radio broadcasted, Backwater/ Just Take Me, Roadhouse Blues, Caroline, Bye Bye Johnny. (EDIT).......and Big Fat Mama And Don’t Waste My Time?! Just got round to listening to this and although the sound is a bit rough, it was still great to hear! Shame it fades out before the end (I still think Alan sounds like he’s singing Fire, Fire, Fire, Fire! ) I would have liked to have heard Big Ben and Auld Lang Syne. Has a different recording been posted on YouTube before though? I’d previously thought Quo actually played it but seem to remember hearing it a couple of years ago and being surprised because it wasn’t them! Probably dreaming again!

To be honest Viv, I thought the band played Auld Lang Syne, but on a pre recorded tape, but by midnight on New Year's Eve, a lot of Alcohol had been consumed

vivfromcov kursaal75I've got an Audience Recording of the show as well with Auld Lang Syne coming after Roadhouse Blues and before Caroline. Seems to be a tape that was played over the P.A. before Rick thrashed into Caroline.

I thought it was a Quo style boogie pre recording by the band, but as I said, by that time, I had visited the bar on several occasions and I was on first name terms with the barmaid

To me it sounds like the old fashion sort rather than Quo.

Funny that you can change/make a memory different. Maybe I didn’t hear Oh Baby at all on that other occasion!
