The 80s, for this purpose post Supposin and Never Too Late, what would constitute a good compilation, named after one of my favourite Quo 80s tracks, "The Power of Rock"!
Sister album released on a budget label, the double disk "Address Book: The Worst of Status Quo" lol Featuring promo single "Marguerita Time - the 12" Very Extended remix with additional synths.
Forgetting that, concentrating on the best of the best, 1982-1989, Quo's finest from that unique decade. A 12-track album, a '12 Golden 80s Bars' if you will..
Campaign to be led by a very cool promo single, the elevated to A-side status "Lean Machine" b/w "Long Legged Girls".
Any thoughts on the 12 tracks to compile this new compilation, "The Power of Rock: Best 12 Golden Bars of the 80s"?

Great choices paradise; left out Supposin and NTL as they'd take up all 12 slots!
My choices, and even though albums not great 1982-1989, quite a lot of good tracks:
Too Close to the Ground Your Kind of Love Ol Rag Blues No Contract Resurrection Get Out and Walk Overdose Dont Mind if I Do Magic The Power of Rock The Way I Am Man Overboard
- Quite a good collection actually! Deluxe 14-track edition includes the Lean Machine/Long Legged Girls promo single.

In no particular order: Rollin' Home Lonely Heartburn End Of The Line Overdose Late Last Night Don't Mind If I Do The Loving Game Who Gets The Love [Extended] Halloween Lean Machine The Power Of Rock
And I left a bunch out (like Burning Bridges, for instance)! Unlike many users here, I quite like this period of the band as well. Some tracks may not be what you would expect from the 70's Status Quo, but it's how the band progressed and I still like these songs (including the bunch I left out). Even some slower ones, like 1000 Years, have their own place (just not on the typical heads down boogie Status Quo used to compose and play).

Good thread, as I don't own any post Lancaster albums of the 80s. The thing is: who can I trust? (I'm too lazy to trawl through these poppy, twee albums)

Nice thread, but difficult for me as well, because I do like a lot of their output from this time. Anyway, here's my 12 Gold Bars: Rollin’ Home Ol‘ Rag Blues Cream Of The Crop Lean Machine Can’t Be Done Not At All Late Last Night Dreamin Doing It All For You Magic Rotten To The Bone Lonely In this particular order as I thought about that, too. Will be doing a playlist and listen to it, now Edit: Fuck, I missed out completely on 1+9+8+2, somehow thought we were starting with BTB. I'm going to leave my decision as it is though, because I love 1+9+8+2 and would be ending up including nearly all of the songs.
