Now, here`s the thing. I am bored at work, so I decided to crank up Piledriver (like you do). Could anyone out there tell me the CORRECT line in Big Fat Mama. Its on the third verse where it says `I got a big fat mama` is the next bit with a big fat boy/motor or collar? I have seen all three written down on lyric sites online including the Official Quo site. I always thought it was motor, I am probably wrong though.

I didn’t sound like motor but I think that’s what it became live.
That’s something that has happened a few times with Quo....Spinning Wheel Blues, Don’t Waste My Time and RAOTW spring to mind in this regard

Interestingly, inside the LP's gatefold sleeve, the BFM lyrics stop after the first section of the song. It hasn't got: 'I've got a big fat mama...' etc, at all. Curious!

I think it is supposed to be motor. I recall someone (Rick maybe?) saying that the song wasn't about a woman but about a car. Although I'm not sure some of the other lyrics lend themselves to that. He was perhaps being, eh, chivalrous after the fact

"I've got a Big Fat Mama with Bob's handwriting" can't be right.

On a sort of similar subject, although not quite. What exactly IS a 'lakky' lady?

On a sort of similar subject, although not quite. What exactly IS a 'lakky' lady? My pal Lesley asked Francis this last year at the meet and greet before one of his talking shows Now, you know how Francis talks, this was what he said : So.... lakky was a term used for a labourer, someone who does everything without complaining. So a lakky lady is someone you rely on who you love without compromise, not caring what she looks like.

Thanks for that! I'd always wondered about it but it never occurred to me that they meant 'lackey'. You learn something new every day.

I suggested she ask it as Ma Kelly is her favourite album plus I said that to make best use of the meet and greet then it’s good to have a question in mind so that the moment doesn’t pass you by
